When do I hear back about being accepted?
All applications have been evaluated and decisions were emailed to applicants on April 1st. Email email@example.com with any concerns about applications.
How do I get there?
The event is in Columbia University’s Lerner Hall, 5th floor Satow Room in Manhattan, New York. The address is 2920 Broadway, New York, NY and the building is at the intersection of West 115th Street and Broadway. Limited roadside parking is available, but difficult to find so we suggest taking public transportation.
The 1 train (red) on the subway or the M104 public bus will take you to the Columbia main gates at 116th st and Broadway. Both cost $2.75 per person, per ride. Uber or taxi are also easy ways to get to Lerner Hall, but are more expensive.
All non-Columbia University affiliated presenters and guests should pick up wristbands outside Lerner Hall prior to entering the event.

What are the poster requirements?
Attendees are expected to print and bring their own posters, but mounting equipment will be provided on site. There are no dimensional restrictions for the poster seeing as presenters are providing their own posters, however, extremely large or floppy posters will be difficult to mount.
Will there be food?
Yes! Lunch refreshments will be provided.
Can I bring guests?
Absolutely, in fact we encourage you to bring your mentors or peers. All guests whose names have been emailed to the CUSJ staff will have a wristband waiting for them at Lerner Hall.
Can two of us present one poster together?
Yes; both students must register their names with us ahead of time. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
What is the dress code?
Business formal for presenters, none for guests.
Who is coming?
This event is for undergraduate researchers from across the nation, so you’ll meet undergrads from various institutions including Columbia University. We’ve had brilliant presenters from public schools and private schools, schools in New York and schools much farther away, so you’ll meet plenty of other undergrads!
What else will happen at the Symposium besides the poster session?
We’ll kick off the event with a Columbia University keynote speaker. We will also provide lunch during the event, and you’ll have time to network with your fellow presenters. Finally, we’ll close the event by announcing the winners of our Awards of Excellence who will receive some great prizes.
